House collection

Most households have a 180 litre wheeled bin for recycling to replace the orange bags. Recyclable material should be placed directly into your recycling bin. Do not put recycling material into plastic bags before placing in the bin.

Your rubbish is collected in the morning and your recycling collected in the afternoon/evening of the same day. Find out your refuse and recycling collection day here.

If you do not have a wheelie bin, you will still be getting orange bags to use. The council delivers orange recycling bags directly to your door; you should receive new deliveries of recycling bags every three months.

Please put out your recycling bin or orange bag and refuse wheelie bin on the boundary of your property by 6am on the morning of your collections.

Please call 020 8430 2000 or click here for further details.

You can recycle these things only in your orange recycling bags:

  • Leaflets and envelopes
  • Thin card e.g. cereal boxes

  • Detergent bottles
  • Washing up liquid bottles
  • Shampoo bottles
  • Please wash, squash, and take lids off
