Love Food Hate Waste

Throwing away food costs the average family £50 a month, as well as all the resources that went into producing, transporting and storing it.

Havering residents waste 20,000 tonnes of food every year.

Havering council has used funding from the Waste and Resources Action Programme (WRAP) for a Love Food Hate Waste (LFHW) campaign to run in 2011 and 2012, in the form of training and free cookery workshops.

Training and workshops
Havering got local residents involved as Love Food Hate Waste Champions, to promote food waste reduction to other residents.

Cookery workshops are available for residents to learn about Love Food Hate Waste principles and how to cook frugally with two professional chefs!
