Education programme

The Recycle for your Community Campaign provides free support to help with recycling at school.

Our new programme for 2011-12 aims to engage the whole school, with a package of activities, which can include:

  • Recycling assemblies to inform and motivate the school community
  • Hands-on class activities where pupils learn why and how to recycle
  • Visits to our education centre – MuRFy’s World (Key Stage 2)
  • Advice and support for Eco-Teams and staff responsible for setting up recycling schemes
Class activities link environmental issues with real world examples, encouraging the pupils to think about resources and waste in school and at home.

  • Have a recycling point in every room - don’t forget non-teaching areas like the office, staff room and kitchen
  • Put rubbish bins and recycling points together so it’s as easy to recycle as it is to throw something away
