Climate Week 2012
- Schools and community groups in Redbridge can apply for a grant of up to £1000 to run an event or project to raise awareness of climate change in the community. Visit Redbridge i for more details.

RHS Campaign for School Gardening
- Register your school on their site to access gardening at school resources, tips and support from the Royal Horticultural Society http://apps.rhs.org.uk/schoolgardening/default.aspa

Wastebuster Sport into Schools - Collect unwanted textiles and earn sports vouchers for your school! http://www.wastebuster.co.uk/sport-into-schools

TerraCycle - Register your school to become a Terracycle Brigade, collecting items such as toothbrushes and packaging that cannot be recycled. The school collect items and send them freepost to Terracycle to be upcycled into products. http://www.terracycle.co.uk/

The Big Tidy-Up – This is an ideal way to teach young people about the problem of litter in their local environment. Getting involved in a tidy up gives young people the opportunity to become part of their local community, making a positive contribution to their local and learning at the same time. Free Trees for School! - As 2012 is the year of the Queen’s Diamond Jubilee, the Woodland Trust are offering free trees to school. Register online for your free pack!

Create a garden at school - Garden Organic have lots of resources and information about creating your own garden, including seed packs and growing guides. Visit their website for these resources.

Pre-loved clothing - Why not consider holding a fashion show to highlight what great bargains and high quality goods are donated, to encourage people to take a look in charity shops. If your school doesn’t collect unwanted textiles why not consider hosting a textile donation bank whilst also raising money for charity? Uniform Reuse - If the school runs a uniform reuse scheme, why not promote this at other school events? Parents can swap their children’s old uniforms for lost property or other unwanted uniforms that aren’t worn out or damaged.
A website called Unicycle has recently been launched, providing advice and resources to help you set up a swapping event.
