Community Recycling Champions Wanted
29 October

The Recycle for your Community team is now looking to recruit and train our next intake of voluntary Community Recycling Champions!
• Are you enthusiastic about recycling and waste minimisation?
• Would you like to share this enthusiasm with your local community by helping to run fun activities and information stalls?
• Do you live in one of the four London Boroughs of Havering, Newham, Barking and Dagenham or Redbridge?
• Can you commit to volunteering one day a month for at least three months?
If you’ve answered ‘yes’ to the questions above, then we’d love to hear from you!
The voluntary Community Recycling Champions programme recruits and trains local residents to assist with community events and roadshows, aiming to raise awareness of recycling and waste minimisation issues in East London. You don’t need any volunteering experience to become a voluntary Community Recycling Champion, you just need to believe that recycling is important, be friendly and approachable and be willing to promote recycling to others.
The Recycle for your Community team will provide full training, support and information to all our volunteers. Volunteers will have the opportunity to gain knowledge about important waste and recycling issues in East London, and be part of a network of like-minded people who want to make a difference in their community.
Please note: This position is a voluntary role however travel and lunch expenses will be reimbursed.
Download the role description and application form now, or contact Sarah Mills at sarah.mills@wastewatch.org.uk or on 020 8911 3189 / 07736 783 975.
The closing date for applications will be Friday 19th November 2010 at midnight.
The training day for successful candidates will be Tuesday 7th December.
